Meet the push mower

Meet my push mowerA few years ago, we had a regular gas lawn mower, but I couldn’t start it, which was a problem when my husband traveled. So, we bought a push mower and we love it. Love! Ever since we brought it home, we both “offer” to mow the lawn. It goes a little like this: “I’ll mow the lawn, honey.” “No, that’s ok. I’ll do it.” “No, really, I can mow it. You just relax.” “Ok, but I get to mow next time.”

It’s so fun! You can smell the fresh cut grass (not gas), and the blades make a lovely whirring sound. If we had a slightly bigger yard, we would probably have to stick with the conventional mower, but for our little yard, it’s perfect.

  1. Huh, I was just asking around about these. Everyone said they are fairly hard to push and only work on a near-perfect lawn. Maybe those were just the old school ones?

  2. Maybe the people you asked didn’t actually have one. It is so easy to push! And our lawn is far from perfect. You can try it if you come to the yard sale this weekend.

The only challenge is that you have to get the blades sharpened every few years.

  3. We had one when we were kids – my Dad told me he didn’t think it would work on my lawn. Laura also said she used to use one – and that it was a real pain.
I would like to try yours out because I am all about the idea of not having to use a loud, smelly gas mower.

  4. My mistake.

I really love it. It’s so much easier to use than the gas mower, and smells and sounds good. 🙂

Your kind thoughts...
