My new tail-wrapper

Check out this little tail-wrapper. Isn’t she a bundle of joy? (She wraps her tail around her feet every time she sits. Every time!) We got this little angel from One of a Kind Pets last summer after losing our precious Voogaman. I will confess, she was very bad when we first brought her home. Very very bad. She ate everything! But now, I’m totally in love. She brings me so much joy and laughter. And Lemon loves her too.

One of a Kind Pets (OOAK) recently moved into a new building on W. Exchange St. behind AutoZone. If you remember the big metal ball that marked the old bowling alley, rest assured, it’s still there. It playfully represents a ball of yarn and I’m told, will soon have a metal kitty or two hanging from it. Anyway, I can’t recommend OOAK enough! They rescue cats and dogs from the pound before they’re about to be euthanized. All pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and have had a complete medical exam before they go home with you. They also have a low-cost spay and neuter clinic.

If you’re not in the market for a new furball, consider making a donation to the spay/neuter clinic. Spay and release programs like theirs work better than other overpopulation programs. They also offer low-cost/no-cost spay and neuter services. Dogs that have been spayed or neutered are less likely to roam, and they have fewer health problems.

  1. My friend Nikki got her cat there too! I was thinking about looking there for our next kitty (am I crazy? I don’t know) but then we found out my SIL keeps their cat locked in their dirt basement and then sometimes forgets to feed her because her husband is allergic. So I think we’re just going to rescue her instead. What’s wrong with people?! Ill never know.

  2. Yeah, that cat needs to be rescued. 🙂 Why would she even have a cat?

I never knew how bad kittens were. So bad! We got our 2 together about 9 years ago, so they picked on each other and it was great. When we got Imogen, she didn’t have another kitten to pick on, so she picked on me. She ate everything. Tofu, bread, baba ganoush, … I even found her in the bag of dog food. That’s right, she jumped into the 40lb bag of large breed adult dog food and was eating it all. She had such a huge belly! (Poor dog was salivating. lol) It was total chaos.

Then, one day, she was perfect. She stopped eating everyone else’s food and never does anything bad (except scratch the couch, but that’s to be expected).

If you get a kitten, let me know if it’s as bad as Imogen was.

Your kind thoughts...
